TASK 3

Hi Guys,

Here is task 3 - we will be starting it today in class and it will be part of your holiday homework.

Using the Biography Maker as a guide (the link is in the links section of this blog - GH: Biography Maker) you are to create a blog page biography of a figure of the Russian Revolution.

You will draw a name from a hat at the start of this lesson so that we don't end up with everyone writing about Lenin :) those who are not here today will get their person tomorrow. Anyone not here tomorrow will need to check the blog as I will put a list of your people up here once it is finalised.

Once you have completed your blog biography, you will need to put the link to your blog as a post under the list (once that has been posted) so that I have access to your biographies and that your classmates do also (so that we can use it as a created resource to share.)

DON'T FORGET!!!!!! I WANT TO SEE YOUR TIMELINES AND RELATIONSHIP MATRICES BY THE END OF THE LESSON TOMORROW!!!!!

Hi Guys!! Ready to start unit 4?????

It's all about Russia for the next 13 weeks or so.

SAC number 1 will be an ESSAY and it will take place during the week starting August 2 unless stated otherwise towards the end of this term.

SAC number 2 will be a HISTORIOGRAPHICAL EXERSISE and will take place during the final week of term 3.

Today's task, for those of you who are not here is as follows:

Use the mind-mapping software 'Inspiration' to complete both tasks. If 'Inspiration' is unavailable, you can use the graphic organiser features of MS Word to complete both tasks.

TASK 1

  • Create a timeline of all the major events of the Russian Revolution from 1905 to 1924

  • For each major event in your timeline, include a brief statement of explanation (who, what, where, when, how and why)

  • You will be adding to this timeline over the course of unit 4

TASK 2

  • Create a 'family tree' of the who's who of the Russian Revolution

  • Use different colours/patterns and labels to signify the relationships between the people you put in your tree

  • Include pictures and a brief biography of each person/group

  • You will be adding to this over the course of unit 4

If you have any questions, post them at the end of this post or email me! :)
